First Inter-Class Debate Competition

On 21.06.2010, Pudong Campus English department held its first Inter-Class Debate Competition between Year 6P and Year 8P. Year 6P defended the motion “Should teens have their own credit card?” and was represented by Thomas Glas and Meiling Stobbe whilst Year 8P spoke against the motion and was represented by Anna Fleischer and Maurice Dietrich.

Each team’s speakers made an excellent case and maintained their composure admirably. But the infinitely more knowledgeable and experienced judges – Ms Elizabeth Kehayan, Ms Sandra Vahldiek and Mr Alex Volkmann pronounced Year 6P the winner of the debate after an interesting and intelligible presentation from both teams.

Thomas Glas of the winning team was adjudged the best debater.
